It is not easy to find the right piano teacher, especially for younger
kids with very different personalities. We are fortunate to have found
one. We have now been with Ms. Ritter for more than three years since
our older child started taking piano lessons. Our younger child observed
his sister's classes for over a year. When he saw her progress and how

It is not easy to find the right piano teacher, especially for younger

our older child started taking piano lessons. Our younger child observed
his sister's classes for over a year. When he saw her progress and how
much she enjoyed them he begged us to let him take piano classes as well.

While Ms. Ritter is very involved, kind, attentive, and patient with each
child, she sets the ground rules for every student to follow. She expects
respectful behavior, paying attention during class, completing homework,
and regular, age-appropriate practice. She pays very close attention to
techniques and increases the difficulty of the material once certain
aspects are mastered and she feels the student can handle.

This year Ms. Ritter introduced free group classes, which are a big hit
with our kids. These classes allow students of different age and levels
to get together, talk about music, show their skills, see others playing,
and simply enjoy a wonderful company.

I hear from some parents that their kids don't like classes because they
are bored. This has never been the case with Ms. Ritter's classes. Yes,
it is sometimes hard during the early stages to get younger kids to
practice. As they progress, they start playing more advanced pieces and
learning more advanced concepts, and practice time is becoming one of
their favorite times. Besides practicing assigned materials, Ms. Ritter
encourages kids to explore and make up their own music. This is like icing
on top of the cake for them, and they have fun modifying their practice
pieces.

Two times a year Ms. Ritter organizes recital to show and recognize each
child's efforts and gained skills. The concerts are beautiful and never
stop surprising us how talented kids can be.

Thank you, Ms. Ritter for all your talent and effort, and sharing a
wonderful world of music with our kids and us.

My daughter has been taking lessons with Ms. Ritter for about a year and I am very happy with the progress she has made. Prior to taking lessons with Ms. Ritter, my daughter did not have any piano lessons. Ms. Ritter tailors the lessons that would best fit my daughter's needs. Her teaching methods and fostering environment keeps my daughter wanting to learn more while enjoying playing the piano.
I want to thank Ms. Ritter for her patience and guidance.

I have been a life-long admirer of the piano but never got the chance to learn as a child.

I started lessons with Ms Ritter on August 19th,2016. Before that, I had taken piano lessons on and off in the last 5 years. In the short 2 months with Ms Ritter, I can already see and hear my progress. Any musician with a good ear can point out the mistakes, but only an experienced piano teacher like Ms Ritter can break down difficult problems and suggest effective methods by which to improve.

Ms Ritter is very methodical in her approach and focuses on building a solid foundation upon which students can develop their musical talents. She is also great at keeping students engaged and motivated. But what I love most about Ms Ritter is her dedication and passion for music. It is clear that she's constantly thinking of ways to help her students to improve. Even though she has many students, every time I come to class, she remembers exactly what my issues were from last week, and usually has already prepared material for me to work on to solidify new techniques. Her homework assignments are not just random pieces thrown together hastily, you can clearly see how they compliment one another.

I highly recommend Ms Ritter.

Coming from Russia, I've been accustomed to high expectations for proper piano instruction and was very selective in choosing Russian-educated piano teacher for my 5-year-old daughter. It is essential that she learn proper technique from the beginning, including hand position, movements and good posture. I was recommended by Russian language teacher and my daughter started taking piano lessons at the Russian Music Academy. Our daughter always looks forward to piano lessons with Ms. Elza, who brings a unique approach to make piano, music theory, and ear training fun and exciting. As a teacher, Ms. Elza is very patient and consistent. She always knows how to encourage our little one to do more. The amount of homework is age appropriate and reinforces her lessons. In traditional Russian music school, beginners have 2 lessons per week and to my delight the same approach is offered by Ms. Elza. The result was obvious - our daughter is developing technical and musical skills with ease and joy!
We can see great progress with her hand position, development of her listening abilities and musical creativeness. Ms. Elza’s approach on combination of student’s imagination, concentration on listening and physical piano touch brings fantastic results! Our daughter can read and play pieces with both hands in treble and bass clefs just after 20 classes. And she loves to play those cute songs from the Russian Book! Ms. Elza's dedication to teaching and love of music makes every lesson enjoyable!

My daughter has been taking lessons with Ms. Elza for about 5 years. We could not be more thrilled to have found such a kind, patient, caring and exceptionally knowledgable teacher. My daughter, Eva, continues to progress as well as love music, her lessons and playing piano. Many people have remarked about my daughter's good technique and the joy she emotes when playing, and I know Ms. Elza deserves a lot of credit for that. Ms. Elza's approach is very holistic and she tailors her lessons to meet my daughter's needs.

Eva has a great relationship with her teacher and feels that Ms. Elza is interested in her as a person and not just a piano student. My daughter looks forward to her weekly lessons and always chats excitedly on the way home about what they work on together. Ms. Elza expects excellence but balances out a job well done with love and encouragement to reach the next goal, I cannot recommend her highly enough. Ms. Elza is an extremely capable and passionate piano teacher that can teach many levels of students and will push them enough that they succeed but not so much as to discourage them. We love her.
